Labor Affiliations
The TAA is part of a national and international labor community, and as such we are associated with and are active members in a variety of organizations. As an American Federation of Teachers (AFT) local we pay dues and enjoy the benefits of belonging to both the state and national AFT federations and the AFL-CIO. The TAA also takes an active role in various organizations focusing on higher education issues.

- Campus Workers Coalition, a group of campus workers from different unions who meet to plan collective actions and address issues that affect all workers.
- Student Labor Action Coalition (SLAC), coalition of students, workers, and labor activists dedicated to organizing students to engage in labor solidarity activities locally and worldwide.
- Associated Students of Madison (ASM) – student government
- Wisconsin University Union (WUU) – an independent association of faculty and academic staff
- Fossil Free UW – part of a national divestment campaign asking universities to divest from the top 200 fossil fuel companies
- United Council (UC) – the UW-wide student association that lobbies, advocates, and organizes on higher education issues
