History has won Segregated fee relief!

Computer science has won union representation on their decision-making committee

The Integrated Program in Biochemistry (IPiB) has won:

  • a raise up to $36,000 in Fall 2023 after writing a letter to their program administration signed by the majority of the department
  • This stipend increase applied across MDTP and Genetics!

Mathematics has won:

  • a reasonable timeline for grading midterm exams
  • paid training on grading software
  • the reversal of two attempts to increase TA hours without compensation
  • increased representation on the department committee for TA policies & procedures

Cellular & Molecular Biology has won:

  • a stipend increase of $500
  • an emergency fund for students 
  • increased representation on the committee deciding future stipends

The Microbiology Doctoral Training Program (MDTP) has won:

  • a 7% stipend increase for fiscal years ‘22 and ‘23 from a letter signed by a majority of the program
  • a gift fund for students to cover international student fees
  • new DEI committee structure
  • increased program transparency on how decisions are made
  • Monthly director office hours for students/union members to discuss concerns
