History has won Segregated fee relief!
Computer science has won union representation on their decision-making committee
The Integrated Program in Biochemistry (IPiB) has won:
- a raise up to $36,000 in Fall 2023 after writing a letter to their program administration signed by the majority of the department
- This stipend increase applied across MDTP and Genetics!
Mathematics has won:
- a reasonable timeline for grading midterm exams
- paid training on grading software
- the reversal of two attempts to increase TA hours without compensation
- increased representation on the department committee for TA policies & procedures
Cellular & Molecular Biology has won:
- a stipend increase of $500
- an emergency fund for students
- increased representation on the committee deciding future stipends
The Microbiology Doctoral Training Program (MDTP) has won:
- a 7% stipend increase for fiscal years ‘22 and ‘23 from a letter signed by a majority of the program
- a gift fund for students to cover international student fees
- new DEI committee structure
- increased program transparency on how decisions are made
- Monthly director office hours for students/union members to discuss concerns
