“At UW Madison, a horse gets better parental leave than humans”
UW-Madison currently does not have a standardized policy for paid family and medical leave.
Governor Tony Evers has proposed 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave as a part of his state budget plan for this year; however, there is no guarantee that this provision will be included in the final version of the budget. Campus labor unions including the TAA have put together this open letter to Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin urging her to adopt a 12 week paid family & medical leave policy for all UW Madison employees.
